Privacy policy

Cozy Bites ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through cozybites.cafe, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Orders: your name, email, phone number, pickup time, order items and any notes you add.
• Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never received or stored by Cozy Bites. Stripe's use of your information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Catering inquiries and messages: the details you enter in our forms.
• Reviews: your display name, rating and review text (published after moderation) and, optionally, an email address that is never published.
• Technical data: standard server logs and a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse.

How we use it

• To prepare and fulfil your order and contact you about it.
• To respond to catering inquiries and messages.
• To publish and moderate reviews.
• To keep the website secure and prevent fraud and spam.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising. We send transactional emails (such as order confirmations) and do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your cart is stored in your own browser (local storage) so it's still there when you come back. Fonts are served from our own website. Only the embedded Google Map on our contact page loads content from Google.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Inquiries are deleted after two years. Anti-spam rate-limiting data expires automatically within a few days.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to remove a review you wrote, by emailing contact@cozybites.cafe. Washington residents may have additional rights regarding consumer health data under the Washington My Health My Data Act; we do not intentionally collect consumer health data beyond allergy notes you choose to share for preparing your order.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Order and review data is stored encrypted in Amazon Web Services, with access restricted to authorised staff.
